What is an AI canvas?
An AI canvas is an infinite visual workspace where AI works directly on your shapes instead of in a separate chat window. In Planloom you select sticky notes or text, ask for a flowchart, mind map, summary or tasks, preview the result on the board and insert it as a single undo step.
Unlike an AI chat, the output is not text you copy somewhere else. It is shapes, connectors, notes and tasks your whole team can see, move and build on together, with the context coming from what is already on the board.

What is an AI canvas?

Can Planloom generate a flowchart or mind map from text?
Yes. Describe what you need or select existing notes, choose flowchart, mind map or stickies, and Planloom lays the result out on the canvas with real shapes and connectors you can keep editing.
Can AI turn sticky notes into tasks?
Yes. Select a brainstorm and choose Turn into tasks. You review the suggested tasks with owners and due dates before anything is created, and each task stays linked back to the shape it came from.
Can AI summarise a whiteboard?
Yes. Select a frame or a group of shapes and ask for a summary. Planloom writes a short recap you can drop on the board as a note or share as a status update.
What does the AI see from my board?
Only the shapes you select, sent as trimmed text. Images, files and the rest of the board are never attached, and nothing is sent until you run an action.
Is my data private?
Your personal notes, journal and personal canvases are end-to-end encrypted in your browser with AES-256-GCM. Shared Co-Spaces are protected by membership and role-based access checks.
Does the AI canvas work with my team in real time?
Yes. AI results land on the same live canvas your team is editing, sync through Yjs to everyone in the Co-Space, and can be undone like any other change.
Is the AI canvas free?
The canvas is free to start with no credit card. AI actions are included in Pro, and free workspaces can preview them before upgrading.
