Draw AWS, Kubernetes and cloud architecture on a shared canvas
Planloom lets you draw cloud architecture with cylinders for databases, cloud shapes, searchable icons and frames for VPCs, clusters and trust boundaries, connected by arrows that stay attached. It does not ship the official AWS, Azure or Kubernetes icon sets; you label services yourself and use the general icon library. Where it helps is keeping the diagram connected to the repository.
What you get
Boundaries with frames
Group services in frames for a VPC, namespace or trust boundary and move them as one.
Icons and shapes
Cylinders, clouds and thousands of open-source Tabler icons, recolourable in one click. Not the vendor icon sets.
Next to the pull request
Put GitHub pull request cards beside the service they change.
Flagged when code moves
Link a service to its folder in the repository and get a badge when a merged pull request touches it.
Agents can read it
The MCP server gives a coding agent the upstream and downstream of each service from your arrows.
How it works
- 1Open a free canvas and add a frame for each boundary.
- 2Drop services, queues and databases inside and connect them.
- 3Link key services to repository paths so the diagram flags drift.
Questions
Does it include AWS or Kubernetes icons?
No official vendor icon sets. You get general shapes and Tabler icons, and you label the services.
Can it generate the diagram from my infrastructure code?
No. You draw or describe it, and AI can draft a flowchart from a prompt that you then edit.

Use case
Software architecture canvas
Draw architecture diagrams with shapes, connectors and icons, import Mermaid, work live with your team, and put GitHub pull requests beside the design.

Diagram drift detection
Planloom flags diagram shapes when merged pull requests touch the files they describe, warns when open PRs will, and outlines what depends on them.

Living architecture documentation
Keep architecture on an editable canvas wired to GitHub, tasks and decisions, so the diagram is flagged when the code moves instead of silently going stale.
